A Renfrew hair salon are celebrating this week after they scooped a major award.
Liam Chappell of The Hair Boutique in Renfrew has been named as the nation’s hair extension specialist of the year at the Herald’s Look Awards in Glasgow.
Liam sought off stiff competition during the live judging finals during the Scottish Hair and Beauty Show at the SECC on Sunday and was later commended for his “exceptional cutting skills and on-trend final look” at the glittering awards dinner that evening.
His entry was one of 150 nominations which demonstrates the strength of expertise in this specialist area of styling. Liam uses only the highest quality Russian and European human hair extensions ensuring an effortlessly gorgeous look which is super soft, tangle free and full of shine.
The popularity of this type of hair extensions has grown over the last two years and a large proportion of the salon’s clients now use hair extensions to give natural looking length and volume. Liam has an extensive client base which is constantly expanding due in his part to his additional qualification as a Wella Master Colour Professional.
As well as having a strong social media following, he is an integral member of the salon’s bridal team who’s styling work has been featured in various editorial pieces and wedding magazines.
Liam told Renfrewshire News: “It was an honour to be nominated, let alone win an award for something that I truly love doing. The other competitors’ work looked amazing on the live judging day so it felt like a real achievement to have won in such a strong tough category”.
The Look Awards collaborated with the Scottish Hair and Beauty Show 2018 which was held on Sunday, April 22nd at The SEC Centre, Glasgow. As part of this collaboration three of the Hair Categories: Hair Stylist of the Year, Wedding Stylist of the Year and Hair Extension Specialist. The awards are supported by Remi Cacher and Fake Bake.
