Linstone Housing Association this year has worked in partnership with others to provide major investment in their homes and local communities.
Over 1100 homes have benefited from an external wall insulation program with E.On and the Scottish Government which could reduce resident’s fuel bills by around 25%.
With support from Renfrewshire Council and the Scottish Government Linstone took ownership and refurbished 16 homes in Paisley which had been empty for a number of years.
The new office was built working with Tesco and Barr Construction as part of the Linwood Town Centre Regeneration.
Despite spending large sums of money last year, Linstone have been able to limit this year’s increase to only 1.8% which is an average increase of only £1.30 per week.
The increase is one of the lowest in both Renfrewshire and Scotland and demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the rents remain affordable.
Director of Finance, Gary Dalziel said “We are proud of the achievements in the last year which have helped transform our residents communities.
“Almost all of our income comes from the rent paid by tenants and we work hard to ensure that it remains affordable.
“The coming year sees the continued investment in insulation works at a cost of around £5 million with our multi-storeys among other homes to benefit from lower fuel bills”.
