A man has been seriously injured after his car crashed near to the Erskine Bridge in the early hours of Sunday 28 May 2017

The crash happened around 12.15am on Sunday 28th May 2017, the 27-year-old man was driving a Subaru Impreza car on the north bound A898 near to the Erskine Bridge when the car suddenly went out of control and collided with a barrier.

The 27-year old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is currently being treated for a serious head injury.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious. A 26-year-old male passenger was treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley for minor injuries before being released.

Road Policing Inspector Darren Faulds is appealing for any witnesses to the crash and asks that they contact the Divisional Road Policing Department at Greenock via 101 quoting incident number 0122 of 28 May.
