A young mum left a woman with a serious spinal injury after driving at the victim in her car.
Alix McIntyre, 25, targeted Jacqueline Prentice during the attack in Glasgow’s Pollok on 26th November, 2020.
A judge heard how the crime occurred after a “dispute” earlier that day.
Miss Prentice was at her mother’s home when she spotted McIntyre driving past in her Volkswagen Golf.
The High Court in Glasgow today was told there was then a “shouting match” in the street after the victim left the flat.
McIntyre, of Barrhead, Renfrewshire, initially drove off, but returned and headed straight for Miss Prentice.
Prosecutor Lorraine Glancy KC said: “She continued to drive at her pinning her against a wall.
“Miss Prentice was left pinned by the front of the car and her body was across the front.
“The Volkswagen reversed off at speed coming into contact with one of the parked cars before driving off.”
Neighbours helped the victim, who was rushed to hospital.
Miss Glancy said Miss Prentice suffered a “significant spinal injury” as well as a punctured lung.
She needed surgery and was only able to leave hospital around a fortnight later.
The court heard the woman still has impaired mobility and continues to use walking sticks.
First offender McIntyre pled guilty to assaulting Miss Prentice to her severe injury, permanent impairment and disfigurement as well as to the danger of her life.
Paul Nelson KC, defending, asked for McIntyre to remain on bail pending sentencing adding McIntyre cared for her parents.
Lord Arthurson told her: “You can rest assured that you will be receiving a significant custodial sentence.
“You will be going to prison, but I am prepared in the special circumstances to continue your bail meantime.”
McIntyre will be sentenced on 4th April in Edinburgh.
