A group of fearless team members from popular bar and restaurant The Coach House, in Bridge of Weir, have signed themselves up to take to the skies to raise funds for local charity, Quarriers, by taking part in a 1000-feet Zip-Slide across the Clyde on Sunday.

Joining forces as the ‘Fearless Five,’ flying across the Clyde for the exhilarating challenge will be Aimee Colquhoun, Mark James, Leigh Adams, Blair Ketteringham and Francis Carr, who are all proud employees of leading hospitality operator Buzzworks.

Francis Carr, manager of The Coach House said: “We are all thrilled to be actively involved in fundraising for such a worthy cause. At The Coach House, a part of Buzzworks, we have a long tradition of supporting local charities through various initiatives.

“Our upcoming ‘Zip-Slide the Clyde’ adventure has stirred a mix of excitement and nerves among us. Aimee, in particular, has a real fear of heights, so she may take some coaxing. However, we’re providing her with plenty of encouragement by telling her it is much higher than it is, so that it is less scary when she gets there!

“We are hoping to raise £1000, and we would love to have the support of our customers to reach this goal.”

The slide will commence from Yorkhill Quay Car Park, as the team launches themselves into the air, gliding towards the finish line at the iconic Riverside Museum in Glasgow, a distance of 1,000 feet.

Over the course of the slide, they aim to raise vital funds for Quarriers, a charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and adults throughout Scotland.

Quarriers community fundraiser, Lynsey Scobie said: “We are very grateful to Francis and the team from The Coach House, in Bridge of Weir, for getting involved in this challenge.

“The money raised by the team will have such a positive impact on the people we support and hopefully it’s the first of many fundraising challenges the ‘Fearless Five’ take on to raise funds for Quarriers.”
