Saints Kiltie and Baccus start another attack

Having won their opening game of the season against Hibernian last week it was St Mirren’s first home game of the new season and St Mirren knew that a win would see them go top of the league.

The Saints started the game at a fast pace and it was no surprise that they went in front, courtesy of an own goal from ex Saint Joe Shaughnessy in the 7th minute.

They then went on to hit the crossbar before conceding a penalty which Saints new keeper Hemming saved. Then in the 49th minute Mikael Mandron headed home Saints second goal to put them 2 – 0 in front at half time.

The second half saw an improved Dundee team put Saints under pressure and in the 63rd minute Mulligan got a goal back for Dundee and take the score to 2 -1, Dundee were the dominant  team but couldn’t score that second goal, while Saints continued to look dangerous on the break.
