There has been another fire in a derelict building in Paisley’s West End.

Three fire appliances and one height appliance attended the blaze at 3 clavering Street East at around 10.20pm last night.

No one was reported injured during the incident

This is thought to be the third fire in the same street within a matter of months. Other areas of the west end have also been set alight, including a former pub at the top of Well Street earlier this year.

Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a fire at a premises on Clavering Street East, Paisley, around 10.20pm on Monday, 18th September.

“There were no reports of any injuries.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.52pm on Monday, 18th September, to reports of a building fire at Clavering Street in Paisley.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and a height appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire external face of a four-storey tenement building.

“No casualties were reported and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
