Police Scotland appealing for information following a hit and run in Johnstone.

Officers were called to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a pedestrian on Cochranemill Road at around 7.20pm on Thursday.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 15-year-old male youth, was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

The rider of the motorbike made off and enquiries are ongoing to trace them.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Alasdair Bisset said: “I’m keen to trace members of the public who stopped to help the young male before emergency services attended. They may have information which could assist us tracing the rider of this motorbike.

“I’d also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, has dashcam footage or any information which could help with our investigation, to come forward.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3358 of 5 October, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
