Spring is in the air – and music will be too, as the Renfrew Burgh Band prepares to take to the stage with an international soloist.

The band, which has existed since 1911, is to perform in a spring concert in Renfrew Town Hall with guest soloist and virtuoso trombone player, Brett Baker. The concert is presented in partnership with Renfrewshire Council and Renfrew Local Partnership.

Principal trombonist with the world famous Black Dyke Band for more than two decades, Brett Baker is a Rath Trombone Artist who has won European, National and British Open titles on multiple occasions.

Looking ahead to the event, musical director Mark Good commented: “Taking to the stage in Renfrew Town Hall is always a pleasure for Renfrew Burgh Band – and we’re honoured to be joined by one of the finest trombonists in the world in the form of Brett Baker,.

“Brett is probably the most recorded trombone player in brass banding history. His dazzling technique, combined with his innate musicality, will ensure the audience is in for a real treat, in what is certain to be an evening for all the family.”
