Bellway Homes has provided support to Glasgow Clan Ice Futures charity to enable beginners to take part in ice-hockey.
The company’s West Division donated £500 to enable the charity to purchase starter equipment.
Based at Braehead Arena, the organisation recently received charity status and was set up to improve participation, educate children on the benefits of being active and fund-raise to support initiatives.
Kevin McCoskrie, Charity Trustee said, “We’re building a library of equipment that will allow beginners to be protected on the ice while they gradually source their own personal gear. Ice-hockey is an expensive sport, and we don’t want people to be put off by the cost. We’re grateful to Bellway for their support with this.”
The charity was set up in November 2024 by a group of volunteers. It is officially affiliated with the Glasgow Clan, the city’s professional ice-hockey club which competes in the UK premier league.
Pauline Coates, Sales Director, Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West) said, “Ice-hockey is an exciting sport and has a great appeal amongst young people in the community. The charity is delivering terrific work already, encouraging people to be active, and we’re delighted to lend our support.”
