Police appeal after car deliberately set on fire in Renfrew

Police Scotland are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in Renfrew.
Officers on patrol came across a white BMW 3 Series on fire at a property on Edgar Drive at around 3.25am on Sunday,
The blaze was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no injuries were reported.
Detective Constable Jack McElwee said: “The fire is being treated as wilful and our enquiries are ongoing. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the fire and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch. I would also ask anyone with dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0669 of 24 August, 2025.”
