GRID Braehead has announced a £2,000 charitable donation to two organisations supporting people and communities across Renfrewshire.

Scotland’s leading entertainment destination will donate £1,000 each to Quarriers and the Rotary Club of Renfrew, marking the second consecutive year that Renfrew Rotary has benefited from continued support from GRID Braehead.

The donation comes at a significant time for Quarriers following the recent launch of its Brain Injury Community Support Service, which provides support to people across Renfrewshire and surrounding areas affected by brain injuries caused by stroke, addiction, sports injuries and vehicle accidents.

GRID Braehead said the latest donation builds on its wider commitment to supporting local causes. In 2024, the destination supported St Vincent’s Hospice and its charity partner, Glasgow Children’s Charity Hospital, including a £1,000 donation and the gifting of 100 teddy bears to the hospital’s Teddy Hospital initiative.

Bruce Harley, centre manager at GRID Braehead, said the organisation was proud to support both charities and their work within the community.

“We’re incredibly proud to support Quarriers and the Rotary Club of Renfrew and to play a small part in the life-changing work they do every day,” he said. “Supporting Renfrew Rotary for a second year running reflects the strength of our local partnerships and our commitment to making a lasting difference within the community.”

Louise Strachan, events and community fundraiser at Quarriers, said the donation would help the charity reach more people in need.

“Contributions like this enable us to provide vital assistance and ensure individuals and families affected by brain injury are not facing these challenges alone,” she said.

Jack Winch, president of the Rotary Club of Renfrew, said the continued support highlighted the value of strong local partnerships and would directly support community fundraising and initiatives across the area.

GRID Braehead confirmed its support for both charities will continue into 2026, with further fundraising and community engagement activities planned.
