Victim Support Scotland and Scottish Women’s Aid are launching a new service to support people affected by domestic abuse within Scotland’s armed forces community.
The project, called Safe & Supported Scotland, has been funded through The Armed Forces Covenant Trust’s Free from Fear grants programme.
The organisations said the Scotland-wide service will improve access to support for victim survivors and strengthen how armed forces staff respond to domestic abuse.
Victim Support Scotland said there is currently no dedicated armed forces-specific domestic abuse service operating in Scotland.
The project will provide emotional, practical and financial support for victims, including safety planning and help navigating the justice system. Specialist training will also be provided to armed forces personnel across Scotland.
The service is due to launch later in 2026.
Jacqueline Cassidy, Director of Service Delivery at Victim Support Scotland, said: “As the first project of its kind in Scotland, Safe & Supported Scotland will address a gap in provision for domestic abuse support within armed forces communities.
“We are delighted to partner with Scottish Women’s Aid on this initiative.”
Marsha Scott, CEO of Scottish Women’s Aid, said: “Domestic abuse exists in every community, including the armed forces, and this project is an important step in strengthening how military survivors are supported across Scotland.”
