Classic car enthusiasts and families are being invited to a free day out at Braehead later this month as Chrome ‘n’ Classics returns to GRID Braehead.

The event, organised by Lanarkshire Classic Car Club, will take place on Saturday 28th June from 11am until 3pm and is expected to attract between 200 and 250 vehicles.

Visitors will be able to view a wide range of vehicles, including vintage and classic cars, American models, modern classics and custom-built vehicles, while speaking to owners and enthusiasts from across Scotland.

The event also raises money for the children’s charity CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland), with all vehicle display donations going directly to the organisation. Drivers wishing to display a vehicle can simply arrive on the day and make a donation to the club’s charity collection.

Lanarkshire Classic Car Club says it has raised more than £30,000 for CHAS over the past seven years through events, fundraising activities and donations.

A series of awards will be presented throughout the day, including Best Show ‘n’ Shine, Best Restoration, Best American/Custom, Best Classic Car and the Public’s Choice Award.

Alongside the vehicle display, visitors can also browse the Makers Market at GRID Braehead, featuring independent traders, artisan producers and local makers.

Kenny Moffat, Club President at Lanarkshire Classic Car Club, said: “We’re delighted to be back at GRID Braehead and welcome car enthusiasts from across Scotland. Visitors will be able to enjoy everything from vintage classics and American cars to modern classics and unique custom builds. Most importantly, the event helps raise valuable funds for CHAS, and we’re incredibly proud that our club has raised more than £30,000 for the charity over the years.”

Bruce Harley, Centre Manager at GRID Braehead, said: “We’re excited to welcome Chrome ‘n’ Classics back to GRID Braehead this June. The event brings together fantastic vehicles, passionate enthusiasts and the wider community, creating a great family day out. Combined with our Makers Market and the wide range of dining and leisure experiences available at GRID, it’s set to be a brilliant day for our visitors.”

Following the event, visitors will also be able to enjoy the restaurants, leisure attractions and entertainment venues at GRID Braehead.

The free event takes place on Saturday 28th June between 11am and 3pm.
