A woman was taken to hospital after being struck by a car on Clippens Road in Linwood on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Scotland said they received a report of the incident at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, 30th June.

Video seen by Renfrewshire News shows five people near a bus stop. Two women are standing a short distance from the bus stop sign when a white Vauxhall Corsa appears to move towards them.

The footage appears to show the car striking one of the women. However, it is unclear from the video whether she was hit directly or managed to leap out of the way at the last moment.

The clip ends shortly afterwards, and it is not possible to confirm what happened next from the footage alone.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Tuesday, 30 June, 2026 police received a report of a woman having been struck by a car in Clippens Road, Linwood. The car then drove off and enquiries are ongoing to trace it and the driver.

“The woman has been taken to hospital to be checked over. It is not believed that she sustained any serious injuries.”
