Music fans in Renfrewshire are being invited to celebrate 35 years of The Commitments as The McCommitments return to The Bungalow in Paisley next month.

The 11-piece Scottish soul band will perform at the venue on Saturday 29th August with a show celebrating the music from the 1991 film and a selection of soul classics.

The band previously sold out a performance at The Bungalow and will perform songs including Mustang Sally, Try a Little Tenderness, Take Me to the River, In the Midnight Hour, Chain of Fools and Land of 1000 Dances.

The McCommitments feature multiple vocalists and a full horn section. They have performed at venues across Scotland and were nominated at the Scottish Live Music Awards in 2024 and 2025.

Lead singer Big Stevie said: “Paisley has always had a fantastic live music scene. The audiences here know how to enjoy themselves, and The Bungalow is one of those venues where the atmosphere is always electric. The last time we played there, it sold out in no time at all, and the crowd was incredible from the first song to the last.

“The music from The Commitments has brought people together for 35 years, and that’s what we love about it. These songs still have the power to get people singing, dancing and sharing the moment together. We can’t wait to bring that feeling back to Paisley.”

The Paisley performance forms part of a wider run of Scottish dates for the band.

Doors open at 7.00pm on Saturday 29th August at The Bungalow in Paisley. Tickets are available through Skiddle, here: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Paisley/The-Bungalow-Bar/The-McCommitments–tribute-to-The-Commitments/42088751.
