The A737 has been closed between Beith and Lochwinnoch following a report of a potential gas leak. A number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution.
Police Scotland said the report was received at around 10.45am on Thursday, 15th October 2026.
Police and partner agencies are at the scene. Diversions are in place, and members of the public have been advised to avoid the area where possible.
A traffic update at 3.14pm listed the road as closed in both directions between Manrahead Roundabout and Roadhead Roundabout.
The expected duration of the closure is unknown.
