A driver of a car has deliberately attempted to hit a 34-year-old male with the vehicle he was driving on Ness Avenue in Johnstone.
When the driver failed to strike the man, the people in the vehicle exited and proceeded to assault him in the street.
The incident happened on Ness Avenue, Johnstone at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The man was later released.
Police Scotland have launched an enquiry into the incident and are actively seeking to trace both the driver and the passengers involved in the attack.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “About 10.30pm on Saturday, 17th May, 2025, we received a report of a car having been driven at a man on Ness Avenue, Johnstone. He was then assaulted by people within the car.
“Emergency services attended and the 34-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and passengers of the car.”
