Emergency services were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the A737 near the Barrochan Interchange, Johnstone, on Wednesday evening.

The alarm was raised shortly before 7pm on October 29th, with reports of a collision involving several vehicles on the busy route.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.55pm on Wednesday, 29 October, 2025 we were called to a report of a road crash involving five vehicles on the A737, near Johnstone.

“Emergency services attended and three people were taken to hospital to be checked over.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three appliances and a specialist resource were dispatched to the scene.

A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.08pm on Wednesday, 29 October to reports of a collision involving four cars at the A737 near to the Barrochan Interchange, Johnstone.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and a specialist resource to the area and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at the scene.

“Three casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 19:09 on Wednesday 29 October to attend a road traffic collision on the Johnstone slip road. We dispatched two ambulances, three special operations response teams (SORT), and a critical care paramedic (CCP) to the scene. We transported one patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

The road was partially closed for a period while emergency services dealt with the incident.
