JD Gyms has launched a £10 January membership offer at its Renfrew gym as part of a nationwide fitness campaign aimed at helping people ease into healthier routines at the start of the year.

The offer allows new members to join for just £10 for their first month during January, with no requirement to live locally. JD Gyms says the promotion is designed to remove cost as a barrier and encourage people to build sustainable fitness habits rather than short-term New Year resolutions.

The campaign comes as interest in health and fitness rises across the UK. Recent YouGov research found that 23 per cent of people who made a New Year’s resolution for 2026 said improving their health and fitness was their main goal. At the same time, Google Trends data shows searches for “fitness routines” in the UK have risen sharply in recent days.

JD Gyms’ latest campaign, titled “Stronger Than Yesterday”, focuses on gradual progress and consistency rather than dramatic transformations. The gym chain says the message is aimed at people of all fitness levels, whether they are returning to exercise or trying a gym for the first time.

Lee Matthews, Chief Operating Officer at JD Gyms, said the focus is on long-term improvement rather than quick fixes.

“Instead of a ‘New Year, New Me’ approach, we want people to focus on being stronger than yesterday,” he said. “The £10 first-month offer gives new members the chance to experience our gyms and start building routines that can last beyond January.”

Research from University College London suggests it takes an average of 66 days to form a new habit, with many resolutions typically abandoned early in January. JD Gyms says its approach is centred on consistency, enjoyment and realistic goals.

The £10 January membership offer is available for a limited time at the JD Gyms Renfrew location and selected gyms across the UK.
