Entries have opened for the Royal National Mòd 2026, which will take place in Glasgow from 9th to 17th October.

The Royal National Mòd is the world’s largest festival celebrating Gaelic language and culture. It is organised by An Comunn Gàidhealach and features competitive events across music, song, drama, literature, storytelling and the arts.

The festival will return to Glasgow for the first time since 2019. The city has hosted the Mòd 12 times during the event’s 134-year history.

Competitors of all ages are being invited to apply. Last year’s Mòd, held in Lochaber, attracted around 1,900 competitors from across Scotland and beyond.

The nine-day programme includes competitions in solo and choral singing, accordion, harp, poetry, storytelling, art, drama and the traditional Battle of the Bands.

Alongside the competitions, the Mòd also includes concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, talks and community events held across the host city.

Entries must be submitted online at enter.ancomunn.co.uk by midnight on Sunday 31st May 2026.

The Royal National Mòd is held in a different Scottish location each year and is supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, local authorities and the Scottish Government.
