Crowds gathered at Robertson Park in Renfrew on Saturday for the Renfrew Pipe Band Competition, which brought together some of Scotland’s leading pipe bands for a full day of competition and family entertainment.
The free event featured pipe band competitions throughout the day, alongside inflatables, stalls from local traders and a small funfair.
Bands competed across a range of grades, with performances judged by officials from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA).
At 5.30pm, all competing bands assembled to salute event Chieftain Carol MacDonald before the prizegiving ceremony.
Several local bands represented the area, including Johnstone, Kilbarchan, Paisley and District RBL, and Renfrewshire Schools. They achieved success across the different competition grades.
The event also welcomed international competitors, with the Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band taking part in both the Grade 3 and Grade 2 competitions.
The Renfrew Pipe Band Competition was organised by Renfrewshire Council and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.
