A teenager has admitted attacking a food delivery driver and trying to steal his electric bike in Glasgow.
Majid Adem, 19, of Renfrew, and an unknown man attacked Umar Mehmood in Govan on 24th November 2024.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Mr Mehmood was riding his electric bike when the pair ran after him at about 6.30pm.
Prosecutor Abbas Ali said: “They grabbed him, dragged him to the ground which caused him to fall off his bike.
“They punched his head and body as he repeatedly tried to keep hold of his electric bike.”
The unknown man picked up the bike while Adem ran behind him.
A witness shouted for the police, prompting the unknown man to drop the electric bike before the pair ran away.
Mr Mehmood was able to recover the bike.
Adem was traced and arrested four days later.
He pleaded guilty to assault and robbery today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Lorraine Glancy KC deferred sentence until next month for background reports.
Adem had his bail continued in the meantime.
