GRID Braehead will celebrate 20 years of entertainment this February with a free, three-day noughties-inspired event timed to coincide with the school half-term break.

The milestone marks two decades since the venue first opened in 2006 as Xscape Braehead. Since then, the site has gone through several changes, later becoming Soar Braehead before being rebranded as XSite Braehead around 2020 following a major refresh of its leisure offering. In late 2025 and early 2026, the complex entered its latest chapter with a full rebrand to GRID Braehead as part of a wider transformation and investment programme.

From Saturday 14th to Monday 16th February 2026, between 12pm and 6pm each day, families are invited to join the celebrations, with throwback entertainment, creative activities and surprise giveaways taking place throughout the centre.

Visitors will be transported back to the noughties with a live DJ playing iconic hits from the era across the weekend. A series of surprise giveaways will also take place, with guests encouraged to listen out for the classic Nokia ringtone. When it rings, the first person to reach the DJ booth will win a voucher from one of GRID Braehead’s leisure or dining outlets.

A bespoke, GRID-branded noughties photo backdrop will give visitors the chance to capture a nostalgic snap using a selection of themed props, while a large-scale community paint-by-numbers artwork will invite families to get creative together. Popular local artist Cohen Art will also be live-painting sections of the canvas across the weekend, giving visitors the chance to watch the artwork take shape and chat with the artist.

Younger visitors are being catered for with mini paint-by-numbers sheets and GRID-branded flags available to colour in, customise and take home as a keepsake from the celebrations.

GRID Braehead’s charity partner, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, will also be present throughout the event with a pop-up shop selling charity merchandise, children’s toys and balloons, alongside a tombola.

Alongside the free activities, visitors can enjoy the centre’s full range of leisure attractions and restaurants, including Tenpin, Gravity, Odeon, Laser Station and a variety of dining options such as Nando’s, PizzaExpress and TGI Fridays, making it an ideal half-term destination whatever the weather.

Bruce Harley, Centre Manager at GRID Braehead, said the anniversary was a major moment for the venue and a chance to celebrate with the community. He said the noughties theme was a fitting nod to the era in which the centre first opened and added that the team is looking forward to welcoming both returning and new visitors during the celebrations.
