The SNP has retained all three Renfrewshire constituency seats following the 2026 Scottish Parliament election count at Braehead Arena.

George Adam held Paisley for the SNP, Michelle Campbell won the newly-created Renfrewshire North and Cardonald constituency, and Tom Arthur retained Renfrewshire West and Levern Valley.

The results came after counting began on Friday morning following Thursday’s vote across Renfrewshire and the West Scotland region.

George Adam was returned as MSP for Paisley, telling supporters he was “absolutely elated” to continue representing the town.

Michelle Campbell secured victory in Renfrewshire North and Cardonald, a new constituency created following boundary changes introduced by Boundaries Scotland.

Speaking after her election, Campbell said her priority would be creating a “local and accessible” constituency office.

Tom Arthur was also re-elected, retaining Renfrewshire West and Levern Valley for the SNP.

He described the result as “a real honour and a privilege” and said he was looking forward to continuing work with communities across the constituency.

The count at Braehead Arena also included the West Scotland regional list vote, which elects seven additional MSPs through a proportional representation system.

The seven regional MSPs elected for West Scotland were:

  • Neil Bibby (Labour)
  • Katy Clark (Labour)
  • Malcolm Offord (Reform UK)
  • David Smith (Reform UK)
  • Ross Greer (Scottish Greens)
  • Cara McKee (Scottish Greens)
  • Russell Findlay (Conservatives)

Across Renfrewshire, voting took place at 68 polling places and 190 polling stations on Thursday, with around 500 polling staff involved throughout election day.

More than 188,000 people were registered to vote across the three constituencies, with over 33,000 postal votes issued ahead of polling day.

Unlike Westminster elections, there was no overnight count, with verification and counting instead beginning at 9am on Friday morning at Braehead Arena.
