Renfrew Community Council has launched Renfrew’s Best Garden Contest 2026, a new competition aimed at celebrating local pride, creativity and community spirit across the town.
The contest is open to households and residents within the Renfrew Community Council area, with the overall winner set to receive a £200 cash prize.
Residents have until Sunday, 5th July 2026 to enter by submitting photographs of their garden or growing space through an online entry form.
The competition is open to a wide range of outdoor spaces, not just traditional gardens. Front gardens, back gardens, shared spaces, balconies, patios, yards, planters and window boxes are all eligible.
Callum Reid, chairperson of Renfrew Community Council, said: “Renfrew’s Best Garden Contest is back for the first time in years, and we want it to feel like a real celebration of the town.
“This is about more than finding one nice garden. It is about recognising the people across Renfrew who take pride in where they live, brighten up their streets, look after shared spaces, and help make our community feel welcoming.
“You do not need a huge garden to take part. A front garden, a balcony, a planter, a window box or a shared space could all be part of this. If you have put time, care and effort into making something grow, we want to see it.
“We hope people across Renfrew get behind the contest, enter their own garden, encourage neighbours to take part, and help us make this the start of something that becomes a regular community tradition again.”
Residents are asked to upload two photographs as part of their entry.
For anyone unable to upload or take photographs themselves, Renfrew Community Council says assisted entries will be available by arrangement through its email inboxes.
After the closing date, a judging panel will shortlist four finalists before the winner is selected by a vote of the full Renfrew Community Council membership.
