St Mirren chairman John Needham says the club must stay united as it prepares for another season in the Scottish Premiership following its play-off victory over Partick Thistle.
In a message to supporters, Needham admitted finishing 11th was “not where any of us wanted to be” but thanked fans for their backing as the club secured its top-flight status.
He also paid tribute to interim management staff Craig McLeish, Stuart Taylor, Jamie Langfield, Allan McManus and Marc Kelly for guiding the team through a difficult period following the departure of Stephen Robinson.
Needham confirmed an update on the managerial recruitment process and the squad would be provided “in the coming days”.
Reflecting on the season, he said supporters should not lose sight of St Mirren winning the Premier Sports Cup in December — only the fifth major honour in the club’s history.
The chairman also highlighted successes at academy level, with the club’s under-19s winning the Club Academy Scotland Elite League Cup and the under-17s reaching their own League Cup final.
He said the academy would play an increasing role in the club’s future strategy, with a focus on bringing more graduates into the first team.
Needham also praised the club’s community work, including the Street Stuff programme and the efforts of the St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation across Renfrewshire.
The statement also revealed changes to season ticket pricing ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
A new 18-21 age category will be introduced to help bridge the gap between junior and adult prices, while the club also plans to gradually reduce the difference between adult and concession pricing over the next three years starting from the 2027/28 season.
Needham warned football finances were becoming increasingly difficult, pointing to rising player wages, increases to National Insurance and the living wage, as well as higher policing, stewarding and utility costs.
He stressed that as a fan-owned club without a wealthy backer, St Mirren faces different financial realities from some rivals in the Premiership.
Despite that, he said the club had tried to keep season ticket increases as low as possible while continuing to build “the best possible team” for next season.
Ending his message, Needham called for supporters to stay together ahead of the new campaign.
He said: “I believe the only way for us to tackle these challenges and be a successful and sustainable club with a bright future, is through unity. We are stronger together. In 2026/27, Be Our Strength.”
