Two Renfrewshire community transport organisations are set to receive a share of £22,000 after new funding was approved by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).
The funding forms part of more than £1.34 million in grants awarded to community transport operators across the west of Scotland.
SPT said the funding will support 19 community transport organisations which provide journeys to healthcare appointments, shops and social activities. The organisation said these services are often used where no mainstream transport alternative is available.
Renfrewshire Council SOOPiR will receive up to £9,000 in core funding to support accessible transport for residents across the area.
RCT, previously known as the New Tannahill Centre, will receive up to £13,000 towards core operating costs to help continue delivering community transport services.
Councillor Stephen Dornan, Chair of SPT, said: “In Renfrewshire, SOOPiR and RCT are doing quiet but vital work to make sure that people who need support to get around can do so with dignity and independence.
“This funding helps both organisations keep their doors open and their services running for the people who depend on them most.”
