A Paisley Councillor has welcomed plans to resurface Stow Brae in Paisley which has been in a poor state of repair for months.
Renfrewshire News has previously reported on this stretch of road where temporary patch up repairs were carried out recently, but have already started to come apart.
The Council has confirmed that Stow Brae will be resurfaced and a quality control scheme for road repairs in Renfrewshire will be put in place.
Kenny MacLaren, SNP Councillor for Paisley North West said: “This work has been needing done for quite a while.
“You have to question why there wasn’t already some method of assessing the repairs to Renfrewshire roads as some of the repairs, including those in Stow Brae, were shocking.
“Stow Brae is like many streets across Paisley and Renfrewshire which have had repeated repairs to potholes when, in the long term, it may have been better to either get the job done properly or simply resurface the road.
“I’m glad that the work to resurface this road is now going ahead.”
