Detectives are appealing for information after a man was threatened with a knife and money stolen from his shop in Paisley.
Around 1.20pm, a man walked into the Value Right Local shop in Barscube Terrace, Paisley, threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded money and made away with a three-figure sum of money.
No-one was injured in the incident however, the shopkeeper has been left badly shaken.
The suspect has a very slim build, is around 5 ft 7 inches in height. He was wearing a black hooded top and navy blue trousers, possibly tracksuit trousers. He was also wearing a black balaclava in an effort to conceal his face and black gloves.
The suspect left the store and got on a silver coloured mountain bike and headed off in the direction of the Hunterhill Road area.
Officers are conducting door-to-door enquiries and will be gathering CCTV footage for review.
Detective Sergeant Michael Lochrie said: “This incident occurred around lunchtime in a well-established residential area. I am appealing to members of the local community to consider what they may have seen yesterday, it may seem an insignificant event but it could prove vital and help us identify the suspect. Perhaps, you noticed the suspect either prior to, or following the incident, did you see someone on a silver mountain bike? If you have any information or knowledge then please do pass it on. The shop is regularly used by members of the local community and I’m sure someone will have seen something which could assist our investigation.”
