Councillors, Cathy McEwan and Jim Paterson, have been selected to stand for re-election as the SNP Candidates for Renfrew South and Gallowhill.
Councillor Cathy McEwan has represented Renfrewshire South and Gallowhill since 2007, and Councillor Jim Paterson has stood up for the area since his by-election victory last year.
Jim Paterson, SNP Councillor for Renfrew South and Gallowhill, said:
“I am delighted to have been selected by the local SNP to stand once again in Renfrew South and Gallowhill – the area that I live and work.
“The SNP has a strong track record of delivering for local people, including providing the funding towards the insulation programme and building new socially rented housing in the area.
“I want to continue my work in this area, working with Councillor McEwan to stand up for the people of this ward.”
Cathy McEwan, SNP Councillor for Renfrewshire and Gallowhill, said: “I am honoured to be seeking re-election for the Renfrew South and Gallowhill ward. This is an area that I’ve represented since 2007 and I am proud of the work that I’ve done to stand up for the people who live here.
“I have held local surgeries, helped local constituents with a wide range of issues, regularly attended community meetings and campaigned for better street lighting, more investment in the area and against Labour’s temporary closure of the local amenity sites.
“I am delighted to be standing alongside Councillor Jim Paterson. We make a strong team and will continue to be a strong voice for Renfrew South and Gallowhill.
