The search is on once more for the best and safest places in Renfrewshire to enjoy a drink.
Renfrewshire Council and Police Scotland this week launched the 2015/2016 edition of the Best Bar None awards.

The scheme, introduced to Renfrewshire in 2012, recognises those pubs and clubs giving locals a safe environment for responsible drinking.
Premises score gold, silver or bronze status according to a set of nationally-applied standards. Award winners are entitled to display their Best Bar None accreditation in their premises.
Twenty licensed premises across Renfrewshire achieved ‘Best Bar None’ status last year, with six going on to compete at the national Best Bar None awards in Edinburgh.
Councillor Eddie Devine, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment Policy Board, said: “Best Bar None is going from strength-to-strength in Renfrewshire and is now widely recognised as the mark of quality licensed premises where you can enjoy a great night out.”
“A vibrant social scene is crucial to what we’re trying to achieve for Renfrewshire’s town centres. I’d encourage anyone on a night out to check for the Best Bar None logo and I hope to see even more licensed premises apply to take part this year.”
Licensing Sergeant Jeff Curran of Police Scotland said, “We’re delighted that the scheme is back for another year. Renfrewshire has many well-run licensed premises where people can enjoy a drink, knowing that they are in safe hands, and that’s down to the hard work and dedication of a lot of different people.”
I’m looking forward to seeing many more premises taking up the challenge to be ‘best bar none’ in Renfrewshire.”
Licence holders looking to sign up for the scheme should contact Faye Wilson on 0141 618 7589 or email faye.wilson@renfrewshire.gcsx.gov.uk.
Online application forms are also available in the Best Bar None section.
