The Bridge of Weir branch of the Royal British Legion are looking for donations of knitted squares.
They are running a project in honor of the sacrifice from the men who were killed at the battle of the Somme by knitting squares that will be joined together to make panels.
Once the project is completed the squares will be showcased in the Winter Gardens at the People’s Palace, in Glasgow, from 1st July to 31st August.
After being taken down from display, the panels will be re-made into blankets for veterans’ homes.
If you would like to take part completed squares are Welcomed at the Royal British Legion at LiveryWalk, Bridge ‘ of Weir, by 30th April or hand them into Laura’s Nail and Beauty Lounge, on Main Street, or at Beaton Brothers Funeral Directors, on Station Road.
The squares can be knitted or crocheted with any colour, yarn and stitch but they must measure 16cm by 16cm.
