A man has been arrested after he was caught with stolen property in Paisley.
Around 9pm on Thursday 18th August 2016 officers responded to a call from a female in the Seedhill area of Paisley.
The woman had disturbed a male intruder in her home and he made off with some of her belongings.
Within half an hour another call was received regarding an attempted break in and the description of the assailant during the call matched the description given by the woman who reported the previous incident.
After an intensive search by officers, a 43-year-old male was detained and found to be in possession of stolen property. The man is currently in police custody and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for various thefts and attempted housebreaking.
Inspector Tracy Harkins states ‘ The vigilance and quick response of members of the public in contacting the police resulted in a male being apprehended and the prevention of possible further crimes being committed.
