Meet Scott Kerr, the Scottish Conservative candidate for the Houston, Crosslee & Linwood ward.
Scott, who was born with a heart condition is registered disabled after suffering a stroke 20 years ago.
That won’t stop him fulfilling his goal of being an elected Councillor and serving the public.
Scott’s working life includes 20 years as a professional football scout as well as also working at NHS24.
“I’d like to introduce myself to all of you. My name is Scott Kerr and I am the Scottish Conservative candidate for the Houston, Crosslee & Linwood ward at this year’s local elections.
“I’ve lived in Renfrewshire my entire life, having been born and raised in Paisley, before getting married and raising my three kids (and two dogs) here.
“Over 20 years ago I suffered stroke because of a heart condition I was born with, doctors told me that I probably wouldn’t be able to work again. But since then, through determination, I worked as a professional football scout for 20 years plus as well as also working at NHS24.
“I may be registered a disabled but I have never let that stop me in life. My goal is to be a councillor so I can give something back to the people of Renfrewshire, so I can help, advise and talk to people from all walks of life.
“I particularly enjoy listening to people with disabilities and ensuring that they get the same opportunities as everybody else!
“I would like to help long term Carers as feel they go under valued paid or unpaid carers need help.
“My pledge is to fight for the people of Houston, Crosslee & Linwood and give them 100% my attention as I fight for each and every concern they have!
“If elected, I will also put the needs of my ward first, that I can promise you!!!”
