A railway worker was stabbed with a syringe during an early morning robbery in Elderslie on Sunday (02/04/17) morning.
A 46-year-old man, who was carrying an iPad as part of his work duties, was walking towards a service gate near the railway bridge on Old Road when he was approached by a woman and three men.
They asked for his iPad.
The worker took it as a joke but the female removed a syringe from her pocket and stabbed him just above his knee and on his right wrist.
Afterwards the group made off in the direction of Broomward Cemetery, the victim went to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment but now faces a six month wait to see if he has contracted any diseases including Hepatitis B.
The robbery happened around 1.45am.
The woman is described as between 20 and 25 years old, slim build with light brown hair and wearing a black parka-style jacket. The three men are also described as between 20 and 25 years old and were wearing dark clothing. All spoke with a local accent.

Detective Constable Laura Durnie from Paisley CID said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim who required hospital treatment for his injuries.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area in the early hours of this morning and witnessed the incident, or saw a group of three men and a woman, to get in touch.
