Police have made an arrest after an attack on a man in Paisley in the early hours of Saturday morning.
An 18 year-old man has been arrested and is currently detained in police custody in connection with the alleged attempted murder.
The attack happened around 3am on Saturday 22nd April 2017 in New Street, near to its junction with Weighhouse Close, Paisley.
A 33-year-old man was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he is being treated for a head injury.
The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning.
Officers had been gathering CCTV footage and carrying out enquiries in the area.
