A Paisley Councillor has hit out at Renfrewshire Council after communal bins at a Paisley flat have not been emptied.

Cllr Will Mylet, SNP candidate for Paisley East and Central, claims that the backlog of rubbish at flats in Wardrop Street, Paisley is so bad that residents have started piling up rubbish under the stairs.

Councillor Mylet said: “This is not the first example I’ve seen where the bins have not been emptied and rubbish is piled up at the bottom of the stairs”

“I was shocked to see so much rubbish had piled up in these buildings.  It is clear that the communal bins were overflowing and surrounded by more rubbish.

“This is an environmental hazard for residents and has to be tackled quickly.

“I have contacted the relevant council officers to seek immediate action and get these areas cleared of all the remaining rubbish.”

Renfrewshire News did not receive comment from Renfrewshire Council when we contacted them.
