Drivers visiting Glasgow Airport from today face a charge for dropping passengers off and will now have to pay £2 for a stay of up to 10 minutes.

The opening of the new purpose-built facility is aimed at reducing congestion and improving the flow of traffic in and around Glasgow Airport.

The new charge began at 3am yesterday (Wed 26th April 2017).

Blue badge holders will be exempt from the new drop-off charges and will have upto 30 minutes of free parking in the short stay car park.

Drivers who use the drop-off area for longer than 10 minutes will have to pay more. A 60-minute wait will cost £30.

The airport will continue to offer a free pick-up and drop-off area located in the Long Stay Car Park. Customers can park for free for up to 30 minutes.

A 24-hour shuttle bus, which takes approximately five minutes and operates every 10 minutes, will take customers directly to and from the main terminal building.
