Police are continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted in Glasgow Road, Renfrew on Friday 19th May 2017.Around 8.40pm a 29-year-old man was sitting in a light coloured car on the westbound carriageway of Glasgow Road, Renfrew near to the Porcelanosa building when a white car parked behind him and a man got out of it and approached him.
When the victim got out of his car he was assaulted with a sharp object by the suspect who then drove off.
The man was treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for a serious injury to his chest before being released.
Detective Constable Laura Durnie at Paisley CID said: “We do not believe that this was a random attack and believe that the 29-year-old man was specifically targeted by the suspect, never-the-less we cannot tolerate this kind of violence in our streets in Renfrewshire.
“The area of Glasgow Road which is near to the Braehead Shopping Centre would have been busy with people coming to and from the centre and I appeal to anyone who either witnessed this incident or has any other information that could help identify the suspect to contact police at Paisley Police Station via 101 quoting incident number 4367 of 19 th May.
“Alternatively calls be made via CRIMESTOPPERS ON 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.”
