A man has been stabbed in the neck several times in Johnstone this morning.
The 22-year-old victim was working at Provost Close around 10am when he was attacked and stabbed several times in the body, neck and shoulder.
He was treated in an ambulance for a short time before he was transferred to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 9.45am, police were called to a report of a 22-year-old man having been assaulted on the High Street, Johnstone.
“Police and emergency services attended and the man has been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to injuries to his shoulder and neck.
“Enquiries are continuing. Medical staff describe his condition as stable and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information has been asked to call 101.
