Police Scotland are appealing for information after a man died after being struck by a car in Paisley.

The incident involving a silver Ford Fiesta and a male pedestrian happened last night at around 10.15pm on Causeyside Street in the town.

Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other reports of any other injuries to anyone else.

The road was closed for around six and a half hours whilst a full collision investigation was carried out.

A large fence was erected at the junction of Causeyside Street and Canal St while officers investigated, and the road was re-opened at around 5am.

Sergeant Christopher Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died in this crash and out enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

“We are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was in the area prior to the incident and who may be able to help to contact us.

“Two vehicles stopped to assist at the time and left prior to speaking with officers. I would appeal to those drivers and occupants to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone with any dash cam footage or private CCTV which may assist us to contact us.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 4151 of 11 March, 2023.”
