A Taylor Wimpey site manager working in East Renfrewshire has been named among the best in the UK.

David McClure, Senior Site Manager at the Castle Gate development in Maidenhill, has won a Pride in the Job Quality Award 2025 from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

The awards, which are widely regarded as the “Oscars” of the house-building industry, recognise excellence in site management and build quality. Only the top five per cent of site managers across the UK receive the honour each year.

It’s the second year running that David has been recognised, after winning the UK Supreme Award in 2024.

David said the recognition was “a true career highlight” and praised his team at Castle Gate for their commitment to building high-quality homes.

Brian Henderson, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “This award is thoroughly deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of David McClure and the team at Castle Gate.”

The Quality Award winners will now go forward to compete for further honours later this year, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2026.

Castle Gate is part of the major Maidenhill housing development on the border of Newton Mearns.
