A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a firearm was discharged at a house in Paisley.

Police were called to Blackstoun Oval at around 11.20am on Monday, 1 June, following reports that a shot had been fired at a property.

No injuries were reported.

Officers carried out extensive enquiries at the scene and a police presence remained in the area for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Monday, 1 June, 2026, we were called to reports of a firearm shot at a house in Blackstoun Oval, Paisley.

“No-one was injured and extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances.

“A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection a firearms offence and enquiries continue.”

Police have not released any further details about the incident or the circumstances leading up to it.
