Renfrewshire residents are being encouraged to have their say on the future of local services and communities as Renfrewshire Council and Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) launch a major public engagement programme.
The initiative, called Your Voice Matters, will run over the next six months and aims to gather views from people across Renfrewshire to help shape the priorities of the council, HSCP and community planning partners for the next five to 10 years.
Council and HSCP staff will attend events and visit communities throughout Renfrewshire to speak directly with residents about what matters most to them and what they would like to see in their local areas in the years ahead.
Feedback gathered during the programme will help inform future Council and Community Plans, as well as the Integration Joint Board Strategic Plan, which guide decisions on local services, investment, economic growth, education, health, wellbeing and environmental improvements.
Councillor Iain Nicolson, Leader of Renfrewshire Council, said: “Listening to our communities is an essential part of making fair, sustainable and effective decisions as a council.
“We’re committed to working with our communities to ensure our priorities are shaped by what people tell us matters most to them. This approach has already helped shape this year’s budget which put fairness, wellbeing and local pride in our place, at the heart of our decisions, based on resident research carried out last year.
“We know communities and businesses are facing a number of pressures at the moment and public services are also facing challenges, with increasing costs, greater demand and a changing population.
“By working closely with our health and social care colleagues, we will be able to have a joined-up conversation about a wide range of topics, explain some of the challenges we face to secure local services for the longer term, and hear what matters most to people and where they want our focus to be in the years ahead.
“Through Your Voice Matters we want to hear from as many people as possible so together we can shape a future that serves everyone in Renfrewshire and I invite everyone to have their say.”
Margaret Kerr, Chair of the Renfrewshire Integration Joint Board, said: “This is a great opportunity for people across Renfrewshire to help shape the longer-term future of health and social care in their communities. Local people’s experiences and ideas will be vital as we look to transform services to maintain sustainability, while continuing to deliver care that is person-centred and responsive in the years ahead.
“By working closely with our council partners and listening directly to residents, we can better understand what support people need to live well, remain independent and feel connected in their communities. I encourage everyone to get involved and make sure their voice is heard.”
The programme builds on research carried out during 2025, when residents shared their views on local services and priorities. The council said those findings helped shape its 2026-27 budget and demonstrated how public feedback can influence decision-making.
Residents are being encouraged to look out for council staff at community events over the coming months and take the opportunity to share their views.
