Renfrewshire football supporters are being encouraged to put their knowledge to the test with a new online fantasy prediction game covering Scottish Professional Football League matches.
The Scottish Leagues Predictor Fantasy game, created by SubScored, allows fans to predict the scores of SPFL fixtures throughout the season and compete against friends, workmates or fellow supporters.
Among those already signed up are Ricky Kelly, Callaum Carmichael and Davie Welsh from local radio’s Scoreboard Spotlight show, who will be going head-to-head throughout the season to see who comes out on top.
The new SPFL season gets under way tomorrow, with the opening fixture taking place on Friday night. However, the majority of first-round matches will be played on Saturday, giving supporters plenty of opportunities to make their predictions before kick-off.
Players score points based on how close their predictions are to the final result. Exact scorelines earn the highest points, while correctly predicting the winner or draw also adds to a player’s total. Predictions can be changed right up until kick-off.
The game also includes a Joker feature, allowing players to double the points from one fixture of their choice. Private leagues can also be created, giving supporters’ clubs, workplaces and groups of friends the chance to run their own competitions.
Alongside the fantasy game, the SubScored website also provides fixtures, results, league tables and statistics from competitions across Scottish football.
The Scottish Leagues Predictor Fantasy game is free to enter, with supporters able to sign up and make their predictions before each round of SPFL fixtures.
