Arthurlie Football Club have confirmed that William Dyer will be the new manager of the first team.

It comes after Kevin Rutkiewicz surprised fans by resigning for personal reasons. Kevin was only appointed in March 2025.

The club recently clinched the West of Scotland League First Division title, securing promotion to the Premier Division.

It’s an amazing comeback for the club after finishing 14th out of 16 in the West of Scotland League Premier Division last season, which resulted in relegation to the First Division.

New manager William said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to manage Arthurlie with such history they have.

The boys will have their well deserved break then it will be back to hard work for pre season and ready to go for the Premier Division which im really excited about.

“Kevin’s been brilliant with me and I just want to pick up from where he’s left off!”

Arthurlie released a video statement from Kevin Rutkiewicz, here is what he said:

“First of all, I’d like to congratulate every fan and everyone associated with the club, players included. I’m sure you can hear the party’s still going here, and I’m just about to join it.

And I can’t wait, actually.”

“It’s with a heavy heart, I’m deciding I’m gonna move on from Arthurlie . The club have been absolutely magnificent to me. Everyone involved—players, fans, committees, guys like yourself, you know, big guy Muncher—the girls that look after us as well.

“So everybody’s been magnificent, and it’s important that the people outside the club, the fans, know that this was not a football-driven decision. It’s something very personal, something very difficult in family life, you know, and sometimes we’ve got to deal with it. So I appreciate there’ll be a wee bit of curiosity as to what’s going on, but what I can assure the fans is that there is a bright future here at Arthurlie , you know, and we all know we need to catch up. We’re still playing catch-up—of course, we are—but there is a bright future.

“It’s a club with a feel-good factor about it. And there’s only a few clubs that can wake up tomorrow morning and claim that, but we’re one of them. And I hope we can use that to gather and gain momentum. And I won’t be a stranger. It’ll be about—there are very few things in football that part that capture your heart and imagination.

“Yeah. I’ve been involved, you know, as long as maybe you. That shows my age, doesn’t it? But there are certain moments, but Atholl has definitely captured me, and I’m really proud—really proud—to be involved. Lucky to be involved as well. And I wish the club all the best going forward, and I’m sure you’ll be in capable hands.”
