The West of Scotland Football League Second Division match between Caledonian Locomotive and Cambuslang Rangers at Stepford Park was abandoned shortly before half-time following a serious knee injury to Caledonian Locomotive captain Struan McArthur.

The game was halted with Cambuslang Rangers leading 2–0 when McArthur was injured, with an extended delay as players and officials waited for an ambulance to arrive. After more than two hours, a decision was taken to call the match off to allow the injured player to be taken to hospital.

Caledonian Locomotive confirmed McArthur was transported to hospital by car, where he spent around 12 hours receiving treatment before returning home. The club described the injury as a significant blow and wished their captain a full and speedy recovery.

In a statement, the club thanked staff at Stepford Football Centre, medical responder Patricia McCaneny, and referee Adam Holley for their handling of the incident and for ensuring the player was given time and space to be properly cared for.

The West of Scotland Football League also confirmed the abandonment, stating the match was called off due to injury and extending best wishes to the injured player. Details regarding a replay or the official outcome of the fixture will be confirmed in due course.
