An information event on self-directed support will take place in Renfrewshire later this month.

Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is hosting the event on Monday 12th May 2026. It will bring together people with lived experience, carers and professionals.

Self-directed support (SDS) gives people more choice and control over their care. The event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about how it works and what support is available.

It will focus on real experiences, partnership working and new ways of delivering support. Local voices will play a key role, with input supported by the Carers Centre and Engage Renfrewshire.

The event will be held at Tweedie Hall in Linwood from 9am to 3.30pm. It is being delivered in partnership with Social Work Scotland, Self Directed Support Scotland and In Control Scotland.

Organisers say it is a chance to explore how support can become more flexible and better suited to people’s needs.

Tweedie Hall is fully accessible. There is accessible parking, a Changing Places toilet and a quiet space. Refreshments will be provided.

Anyone who wants to attend can find out more and register online via the Renfrewshire HSCP website.
