McGill’s Buses is adding extra late-night journeys to help Scotland fans get home safely during this summer’s World Cup.

The bus operator is expanding its night bus network for Scotland’s group-stage fixtures, with late kick-offs expected to see thousands of supporters watching matches in pubs, fan zones and homes across the west of Scotland.

For Scotland’s opening fixture on Sunday 14th June, which kicks off at 2am, McGill’s usual Saturday night into Sunday morning night bus network will run as normal. Services on the N3, N4, N6, N26, N38 and N60 will also operate for an additional hour after the final scheduled departure.

On Friday 19th June, fans will be able to use McGill’s standard Friday night into Saturday morning night bus services, including the new N26 route.

The N26 will serve Charing Cross, Govan Interchange, Kings Inch Road and Renfrew Fire Station.

For Scotland’s final group-stage match on Wednesday 24th June, which kicks off at 11pm, McGill’s will run its full weekend night bus timetable from Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The match is expected to finish at around 1am.

Neil Dryden, McGill’s HR, Training and Recruitment Director, said: “World Cup nights are special occasions and we know supporters will want to enjoy every minute of the Scotland matches without worrying about how they are getting home afterwards.

“That is why we are putting on extra late-night journeys for key fixtures and launching our new N26 night bus route, giving customers even more options to travel safely after the final whistle.

“Whether fans are watching in the city centre, meeting friends locally or travelling home after a late night, our night bus network will help keep people moving during what promises to be an exciting summer for Scotland supporters.”

Customers are being encouraged to check the latest timetables and service updates on McGill’s website and social media channels.

Fans can also look out for the chance to win a Scotland top across McGill’s social media channels during the tournament.
